Krakow, Poland (30 Apr 2013)

Kraków is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. Situated on the Vistula River , the city dates back to the 7th century. The Market Square is the site of The Cloth Hall, a Renaissance time trading post. St Mary's Cathedral is also in the vicinity 

Krakow’s Historic Centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site including the entire Old Town.

It is also one of the most beautiful cites in the Europe. With its majestic monuments,cobbled lanes and streets,antiquated shops and restaurants ..

n 1978, Karol Wojtyla, archbishop of Kraków, was elevated to the papacy as Pope John Paul II – the first Slavic pope ever, and the first non-Italian pope in 455 years.

Poland - Wroclaw

Wrocław is a city on the Oder River in western Poland and is one of the oldest and the most beautiful cities in Poland. It’s known for its Market Square, lined with elegant townhouses and featuring a modern fountain. The Gothic Old Town Hall, with its large astronomical clock stands proudly in the same Square. Also referred as to the ‘Polish Venice’ as there are 130 bridges on the oder river connecting 12 islands to Wroclaw and its surrounding neighborhood,

Czech Republic Prague 2013



Prague   is the Capital of The Czech Republic with a history dating back  more than a thousand year. Its beauty is equalled that of Paris. Old Town Prague is a must visit with is historic buildings, cafes, restaurants and bars. Old Town Square  prides itself with many historic pieces like the Astronmical Clock, The  Jan Hus Monument.

Our walk started at the Petrin Hills where we found a first available spot to park Our Sorento ...





Czech Republic - Ceske Budejovice


We crossed the border into Czech Republic from Austria at Dolni Dovoristi/Wulloitz Border Point.

The crossing was uneventful as both are Schengen Countries. Drove 60 km all the way to Ceske Budejovice arriving late in the evening

Linz  It is located in the  North of Austria, on the River Danube 30 kilometres South of the Czech border. 
Famous for its many fine churches, museums, and cultural activities, the city was home to some of Austria's most famous, including novelist Adalbert Stifter and composers Wolfgang Mozart among others.

Germany - Dachau, Augsburg, and Nazi Concentration Camp



Dachau 

Dachau Concentration Camp was first established in March 1933 by the Nazi Government, near Munich, for political prisoners." Later others including Roma gypsies and homosexuals, as well as Jews were brought to Dachau.

At Dachau German doctors and scientists set up laboratories using inmates to carry out heinous and macabre experiments.

Dachau one of the most notorious of Nazi Concentration Camps during WWII.

Germany Munich 2013


 
Munich is one of the world's great beer and brewing capitals of Europe. This is best seen in its vibrant beer halls during the annual Oktoberfest or at a beer garden during the summer. You can visit Baroque and Renaissance cathedrals and opulent royal palaces dating back between the 12th and 18th centuries.





The Hofbräuhaus am Platzl is a beer hall in Munich, Germany, originally built in 1589.
