SCENERIES FROM URGUP TO ORTAHISAR:
Fairy chimneys
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SCENERIES FROM ORTAHISAR VIEWPOINT:
Hiking in search of cave churches.
Pinkish, yellowish, orangey and greenish fairy chimneys. The colours changes at different time of the day.
Ortahisar castle in the distance.
Even birds have found a home in the walls of the winery.
UZUMLU (GRAPE) CHURCH:
AYNALI CHURCH:
>> The tunnels in the church are very dark and narrow. Some of the steps are quite steep as well. Only one person could walk through at a time. In most parts of the tunnel, we had to bend down to get through. Some led to dead ends – these were dug to expand the church further but worked stopped midway.
View from one of the “windows” of Aynali church.
OTHER PHOTOS TAKEN IN ORTAHISAR:
Dad excited to spot an apple tree. He does not like apples though. Melon left to ripen on in the melon patch.
Found this fuel station with water jet spray at Ortahisar, so Our Sorento gets a proper cleaning.
