Samarkand to Tashkent

Leaving Samarkand for Tashkent

We took the M39. At Jizzakh we turned right and took the A376 to Hovos, a town near the border with Tajikistan. At Hovos, we turned north and took the M34 to Tashkent, passing by Gulistan.
Along the way we passed through numerous police check points.

Honey (locally called "asal") sold on the roadside. We thought it was fuel or else we would have bought some local honey.

On the A376 that cuts through huge cultivated land. The main cash crops here are cotton, wheat, barley, and corn.

Leaving Gulliston

Bazaar at Baxt, about 30km north of Gulistan

We arrive at Tashkent at 8pm.
